Finding Your Why.
When you consider the word "wellness" it can seem quite complex in its nature. It can appear to be a daunting and exhausting topic to explore - endless with possibilities and leaving you ultimately empty of solutions. Doesn't this seem contradictory to the concept of “wholeness” that wellness strives to promote? In reality, the pursuit toward healthy eating and establishing regular movement routines is a detailed task, but it doesn't have to be draining. Structuring life around staying healthy is actually quite enjoyable as it takes into account individual needs and personal preferences.
There are so many diet plans that are marketed online. An array of workouts exist on websites such as Pinterest. And then there are social media contacts who are posting photos of their personalized e-recipes, downloadable workout plans and general tips for healthy living.
What is a person to do with all of the information being thrown our way? Which plan is best? Which model is most efficient? What does the research really say? And what is a tabata workout anyway?
Aspen Wellness was developed with the purpose of building awareness, educating and empowering women to cultivate lives of total wellness via articles, free resources and opportunities for learning. Sifting through information, research and options is what we do best. And while the aim is to do a lot of the foundational work for women, this mission towards health and wholeness does comes with some involvement on your part as well.
While all of those WHAT questions hold value (what to do, what to eat, and on what to focus) push pause on your personal journey toward health and start by first asking:
WHY?
Why are you pursuing information about health and wellness? Why do you have an interest in a specific diet plan or workout? Why do you feel strongly about one format over the other? Quite possibly ask yourself: Do I feel the need to look a certain way because I'm comparing myself to what I see on social media? Do I prefer a certain diet or form of movement because it seems like the "in " thing right now? Maybe your why is because you are struggling with a specific health concern (internally or externally) and are looking for support? Maybe you need direction and help with recipes and/or meal planning because life has you firing on all cylinders right now.
Before you answer "What are my goals as I journey with Aspen Wellness?" or "What is my plan of action for getting healthy/ier" ask yourself "Why do I desire a change?"
Once you've got that question answered, it will allow you to gain the most out of your experience. You might see the content from a different viewpoint and find yourself more open to the process. Choose to develop a mindset that permits grace and frees you to cultivate a lifestyle of total wellness. We look forward to joining in the journey to Find a Healthier You.
